Position Title: Electrical Engineer , GS-0850-13

Who May Apply: This position is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. You must be a GS-12 or GS-13 to qualify.
Duty Location: Jacksonville, FL.
- Interested candidates should provide their resume in TARP, and be prepared to provide current SF-50 and first and second level supervisor endorsement upon request.
- Current permanent USACE GS-13 will be considered for details at the same grade (up to 6 months) or reassignment.
- Current permanent GS-12 will be considered for temporary promotions not to exceed 120 days.
Duties:
- Serves as the Section's Technical Specialist engineer for one or more major projects
- Reviews and produces designs (plans and specifications) for proposed works.
- Provides Independent and Agency Technical Review of in-house designs and designs prepared by other Corps Districts.
- Active regional participant in community of practice and with other Districts, CESAD, HQUSACE, other federal and non-federal agencies, and interested parties with respect to specific electrical design features of related work.
- Serves as first level reviewer of in-house designs prepared by other electrical engineers within the branch and section.
- Responsible for coaching, mentoring, facilitating and communicating technical issues to meet project objectives, mission, and goals.
Other Information:
Electrical Engineer with special emphasis on automated control systems, plant automation, process control, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). Expertise is needed in exterior/interior electrical distribution systems, electrical generator installations for critical power requirements, security/fire alarm systems, and control installations for dams and other civil works projects. Applies extensive background in electrical engineering to solve novel/obscure problems.

- This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
