This is an internal announcement for an Architect, GS-0808-12, in the South Atlantic Division, Mobile District, Engineering Division.
Position Title: Architect
Who May Apply: This position is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. You must be a GS-12 to qualify.

Duty Location: Mobile, AL.

- Current permanent USACE GS-12 will be considered for reassignment at the same grade.
The purpose of the position is to serve as an Architect and Project Architect. As Architect, responsibilities shall include the design of floor plans; life safety plan; reflected ceiling plan; roof plan; building elevations and cross sections; wall sections and types; enlarged floor plans; wall, column, roof, casework, and miscellaneous details; and door, window, and finish schedules for Civil Works, Army, Air Force and DOD Medical Facilities. As Project Architect, the incumbent provides leadership and serves as the principle point of contact for design teams within the Engineering Division. The Project Architect interacts with other agency designers, project managers and top agency officials to resolve conflicts in criteria, develop design and contracting strategies and develop a coordinated design which results in advertising, contract award and construction and/or renovation of mission essential facilities for Military, Support For Others, or Civil works projects.
Incumbent receives assignments in terms of project objectives and priorities, and has the total responsibility for planning and carrying out assigned projects, coordinating with other disciplines, determining approaches to take, and resolving problems. The supervisor or designated employee is informed of progress and critical problem matters. Completed work is reviewed for effectiveness in meeting requirements and dealing with problems.Duties:
Assignments involve many different and unrelated engineering or architectural processes and methods, covering a broad range of work in architectural/engineering functions of assigned projects. The incumbent must be versatile and innovative in adapting and modifying guidelines for unique projects for which technical expertise is not available elsewhere in the district. The work also involves considerable planning and coordination with related fields.
