  • Position Overview/Duties:
    • Works under the general supervision of the Area Engineer to manage and oversee construction projects at military installations, U.S. Army Reserve Centers, and civil works sites. Directs field and office engineering functions, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and in accordance with plans and specifications. Supervises a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff. Resolves construction issues within delegated authority and provides recommendations on matters requiring higher-level decisions. Reviews contractor performance, project reports, and completed work to ensure quality and compliance

    • This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in competitive service.


      Minimum Education Requirement:
      Engineering: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. The program must: lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript.


      Architecture: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study or specific course requirements.

      Specialized Experience:
      One year of specialized experience with complex construction projects, exercising delegated contracting authority to manage modifications, ensure compliance with safety regulations (EM 385-1-1), and deliver projects
      within scope, schedule, and budget. Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineering and technical personnel in the successful execution of diverse military and civil works projects, demonstrating expertise in quality control,
      contract administration, and proactive problem-solving to achieve mission objectives for USACE and its stakeholders.


      Selective Placement Factor:

      This position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license (must be attached with your application package) otherwise you will be disqualified.

        an employee must provide residence documentation and maintain a residence in the new geographic location for the duration of the service agreement.
      • PCS expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the
        relocation is in the best interests of the government.
      • This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in
        one of the 50 U.S. states or its possessions to operate vehicles.
