  • Position Overview/Duties:
    • This is an internal announcement for an Auditor in the South Atlantic Division, Mobile District, Internal Review Office.

      Position Title: Auditor

      Who May Apply: This position is only open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES. You must be a GS-12 to qualify.

      Open Period: 5-17 December 2025

      Duty Location: Mobile, AL.

      • Interested candidates should provide their resume and a one-page statement of interest as one document in the TMP, and be prepared to provide current SF-50, transcripts, and first and second level supervisor endorsement upon request.
      • Current permanent USACE GS-12 will be considered for reassignments at the same grade.

      Duties:

      The auditor serves as an agent of the commander of the assigned organization on accounting, financial, and managerial issues that require examination by a financial professional. Responsibilities include quick response audits, audit readiness and sustainment, consulting and advisory services, risk management, liaison with external audit organizations, audit compliance and follow-up. Performs a variety of assignments that are without precedent and that require considerable ingenuity in devising an approach. The auditor will utilize professional accounting and audit skills to maintain oversight for implementing appropriate laws, directives, and regulations of internal control programs and procedures. Reports to the Chief of Internal Review, with subsequent reporting through the chain of command (Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander and Commander). As a senior auditor, performs some of the most difficult work of the unit and may distribute and monitor workload among audit team in accordance with established workflow or job specialization to ensure timely accomplishment of the assigned mission.

      This opportunity is being announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP).       • This position requires that you obtain FMC02-Financial Management Certification Level II within two (2) years of entry on duty.
      • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
      • PCS may be authorized.
      • Relocation incentive may be authorized. Before the payment of a Relocation Incentive, an employee must provide residence documentation and maintain a residence in the new geographic location for the duration of the service agreement.
      • This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or its possessions to operate vehicles.
      • This position may be eligible for situational telework.
