  • Position Overview/Duties:
    • Serves as the Administrative Officer for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District’s Executive Office. Independently accomplishes a broad range of administrative and office management functions to include special functions in planning, organizing, directing and managing the District’s administrative programs. As consultant and personal advisor to the District Commander on executive and administrative matters, performs as the principal district officer for developing and implementing recommended district administrative policy. Advises key district civilian personnel on District Commander's policies, current attitudes and expressed desires. Relieves the District Commander and Deputy of administrative problems to the maximum extent possible, permitting them to concentrate their attention on technical matters. Receives special assignments to committees, boards, or study groups. Reports to the District’s Chief of Staff.

    • This opportunity is being announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP). Current, permanent USACE employees with noncompetitive eligibility to be placed in this position are eligible to apply. This Program may only be utilized for noncompetitive placements, to include voluntary reassignments, promotions not‐to‐exceed 120 days, voluntary changes to lower grade, details, and deployment opportunities. Employees interested in permanent or temporary promotions longer than 120 days must apply through USAJOBS, or other approved merit procedures or hiring authorities. Temporary or term employees and Department of Army Fellows assigned to USACE will not be considered for positions or assignments through VIOP.

      Other Requirements:

      • All positions require the applicant to be a citizen of the United States.

      • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
      • PCS may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
      • Relocation incentive may be authorized. Before the payment of a Relocation Incentive, an employee must provide residence documentation and maintain a residence in the new geographic location for the duration of the service agreement.
      • This position may be eligible for situational telework.
