This opportunity is being announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP). Incumbent serves as the primary shoreline permits clerk to the Lake Office. Position requires substantive knowledge of shoreline use permit processes and the Shoreline Management Program. Incumbent greets visitors personally or via the telephone and is expected to apply a broad knowledge of lake project/area office functions in responding to visitor needs. Personally, deals with many visitors and directs others to appropriate source.
Duties include but limited to:
Carry out the planning, coordinating, scheduling and processing of permits to include: new, re-assignments, cancellations, modifications, and renewals. All permit applications and actions will be reviewed and processed for signature in accordance with established policy and suspense dates with two allowable, valid complaints per rating cycle.
Review permit files for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Shoreline Management Plan. Ensure all permits are current by providing quarterly reports to management on status and suspense's.
Oversee the transition of our current shoreline program to the new SAD software within established timelines and targets.
Effectively accomplish Authorized Collector responsibilities by processing and submitting weekly Shoreline Permit user fees IAW with ER-37-2-10 by collecting, transmitting and ensuring the safeguarding of funds. Collections will be accurate and entered into CEFMS according to Collection Type to ensure proper distribution of funds. Miscellaneous fee collections will be accurately processed and submitted to F&A and Wilmington. Deliver accurate and timely collections in accordance with regulation and established suspense’s.
Assists visitors by providing general information about the project, explaining the basics of the operation of the dam, by describing recreation facilities available, by giving out maps or other informational literature, by explaining basic rules and regulations that apply to various aspects of the lake projects.
Effectively interact with internal and external customers, contractors, volunteers, and stakeholders through clear and open communication and the delivery of high-quality customer service

1. Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 10% may be required.
2. Must possess and maintain a valid civilian driver's license.
