The USACE Pittsburgh District is providing notice of solicitation for the subject expected vacancy. SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES:
- Position supports daily operations and maintenance of one or more multi-purpose water resources facilities.
- Incumbent serves as a Maintenance Worker performing a variety of maintenance, operation and inspection duties. Work includes making gate operations for flood risk management, repairing and maintaining the appurtenant structures and systems of the dam, inspecting maintenance, construction and service contracts at the dam and other Project facilities and participating in annual inspections as required.
- The maintenance staff also maintains and repairs park facilities such as public restrooms, camp sites, picnic areas, park roads, etc. Maintenance skills include, but are not limited to, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry and welding.
- Position works under the general supervision of the Lake Manager, Maintenance Leader and/or Maintenance Mechanic. Receives assignments from the working leader, maintenance mechanic or supervisor either orally or in writing in the form of work orders, simple plans, sketches or detailed specifications. Selects proper tools, equipment and work methods to complete duties, based on established shop practices and policies. Additional guidance is available from working leader or supervisor for unusual or complex assignments.
- Routine assignments are rarely reviewed in progress. Completed work is reviewed for timeliness, adequacy and adherence to instructions.
