In response to the President’s Declaration of an Emergency on the U. S. Southern Border, this program requires immediate hiring of multiple specialized personnel to execute the critical mission requirements of the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. USACE’s critical contributions to the Southern Border Mission include infrastructure and facility support to support border security operations, barrier construction and maintenance, engineering services, as well as logistical and technical support which includes real estate planning, acquisition and support services requiring interagency collaboration with other federal agencies, state and local partners to coordinate border security efforts. Positions that directly support the Southern Border Mission ensure the security and integrity of the border, while also contributing to the economic prosperity and national sovereignty of the United States.
