Detail, Safety Specialist, GS-0018-7/9/11/12 with the South Atlantic Division, Wilmington District, Wilmington, NC.

Period of Assignment: Options for 21-, 30-, 45-, or 60-day assignments, NTE 60 Days.
Applicability: United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is seeking a motivated Safety Specialist to provide safety oversight during our North Carolina Debris Recovery Mission. We welcome applications from Safety Specialists and Safety Managers at all grade levels. This position requires travel, with assignments typically consisting of 12-hour days.
List of Duties: USACE North Carolina Debris Mission
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety programs and protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to contractors on safety practices.
- Monitor job sites for potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and crews to promote a culture of safety.
- Maintain documentation of safety incidents and responses.
- Participate in safety meetings and briefings.
Area of Consideration: For GS-07, 09,11, or 12 professionals USACE wide, currently in the 0018 series. Temporary promotions are not offered.
Other Essential Information:
The applicant must be able to provide, upon request, a Statement of Interest, and a written endorsement from the applicant’s supervisor, with second level supervisor acknowledgment (email is sufficient).
The selectee's duty station will be throughout North Carolina, and both the labor and any travel expenses will be funded by the Wilmington District.
