  • Position Overview/Duties:
    • Duties: Operates power auger and direct-push drill rigs conducting standard penetration test, augering, direct-push soil testing and soil sampling, and obtaining undisturbed soil and ground-water samples. Prepares for drilling jobs, aligning the rig, aligning and installing proper bits and devices, using judgment to anticipate and avoid caving problems. Provides information to field geologist or technician to record drilling activities for geologic purposes.

      Work Schedule: Full-time and Part-time

  • Other Conditions and Requirements:
    • Current active Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required at time of hire. USACE may pay for CDL course.

      Must complete a pre-employment drug test and pre-employment physical.

      Travel Requirement: This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 85% of the time. Travel costs are reimbursed to employee after claim is processed, to include lodging, meals, and incidentals.
