- Position Overview/Duties:
Works under the general administrative and technical supervision of the Chief, Hydrologic Engineering Section, who assigns projects and broad overall objectives. Incumbent serves as a Hydraulic Engineer responsible for hydrologic and meteorological analysis, studies, investigations, and expertise for reports such as; pre and post authorization studies, continuing authority studies, reservoir operational plans, operations and maintenance studies, flood insurance studies, and technical service inquiries related to the development and understanding of water resources in the District. Serves as advisor to the Branch Chief and chief of the Reservoir Control Section on matters pertaining to flood and low water regulation of reservoirs, stream flow prediction, and emergency flood control activities. Also serves in an advisory capacity to lower grade engineers in the Branch on all matters pertaining to hydrology, hydraulics and meteorology. Considerable personal contact is required in coordinating activities in preparing water control plans and carrying out the day-to-day activities.

Applicant Qualifications: This job opportunity is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY in possession of a Registered Professional Engineering license.
Experience in engineering with contact with agency field project personnel, other engineers and subject matter specialists within the District and Division Office, contractors, other State and Federal agencies, and the public.
Experience in selecting, adapting and applying engineering principles and concepts per agency manuals and publications, agency policy and directives.
Experience in preparation of technical reports, studies, and manuals concerned with reservoir regulation, drought contingency planning, sedimentation surveys, annual reports, etc.
