      Position Title:120 Day Mission Support Officer, GS-0301-13

      Location: Position may be dutystationed within USACE but will be arranged upon selection. TDY may be required based on mission needs.

      Summary:

      The Joint Task Force Sentinel is one of USACE’s most unique and highvisibility emerging missions—an enterprise effort that only comes along once in a generation. As the Task Force stands up its operational structure, JTFS is seeking a highly skilled Mission Support Officer (MSO) to support the establishment, coordination, and execution of administrative program management for this new mission.

      This temporary assignment provides a rare opportunity to help shape the foundation of a brandnew USACE program. The MSO serves as a personal advisor and key staff assistant to the Command Group in the Workforce Management Program, Leadership Development Program, Talent Acquisition Program, and Training Program They will assist in the development and execution of the task force’s strategic plans, goals, and business process improvement initiatives and implementation plans.

      This assignment does not include supervisory duties at this time but will operate at a senior advisory level supporting the standup of the Mission Support Office.

      Duties Include but not limited to:

      • Workforce Management Program - Provides direction, oversight, and evaluation of strategic workforce management programs. Identifies and defines problems, develops alternative courses of action, and accomplishes a variety of high-level liaison, advisory, and consultant duties with key management personnel.
      • Leadership Development Program - Manages the Leadership Development Program (LDP), annually reviews the curriculum provided by UNO and District leadership and makes recommendations and decision on how to change it to keep it relevant and leverage input from previous LDP groups.
      • Talent Acquisition Program - Provides direction, oversight, and evaluation of talent acquisition program management. Manages personally or through, program lead, and employees, the planning, execution, and improvement of talent acquisition plans and operations

      Eligibility: Applicants who have held a noncompetitive temporary promotion totaling 120 days within the last 12 months may not be eligible. Contact your servicing CPAC with questions.

      Educational Considerations: Preferred Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in administration; or in a related field such as business administration, human resource administration, or public administration will be taken into consideration but is not a requirement for this professional series.

      1. JTFS will fund labor, candidate will be brought onto NWD roles.

      1. Duty station could vary based on location but does comply with in office requirement, could be limited tdy if command requirements necessitate.

      1. Standard operating hours are Mountain Standard Time, with core hours from 0900-1500.
