Engineering and Construction Division; Office of the Chief
The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.
DUTIES
- Serve as Administrative Services Assistant in the Engineering and Construction Division supporting multiple supervisors and employees.
- Proficiently use a wide variety of software tools to include: electronic financial management systems, electronic personnel systems, and financial management reports.
- Competently use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint), and SharePoint.
- Maintain suspense records on assigned tasks and follow through to ensure suspense dates are met.
- Review correspondence and reports for format, punctuation, typographical errors, grammatical accuracy, and conformance to regulations.
- Prepare and review travel orders/ vouchers and complete credit card purchases in an electronic financial management system.
- Prepare time and attendance records using an automated system to ensure staff members are paid properly.
- Prepare data summaries, charts, and graphs to interpret and communicate information.
- Track expenditures to ensure they do not exceed authorized budget.

- Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- TDY travel may be required up to 5% of the time.

GS-05 Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) use of office automation software; (2) retrieval, update, and storage of electronic data; AND (3) preparing, editing, and formatting correspondence, documents, and/or reports. (Specific experience must be well documented in resume).
GS-06 Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) using office automation software; (2) preparing, editing, and formatting correspondence, documents, and/or reports; AND (3) reviewing budget and/or funding information. (Specific experience must be well documented in resume).
GS-07 Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) using office automation software; (2) preparing, editing, and formatting correspondence, documents, and/or reports; (3) reviewing budget and/or funding information; AND (4) preparing data summaries, charts and graphs to interpret and communicate information. (Specific experience must be well documented in resume).
Physical Effort: Primarily sedentary while performing computer work. Some occasional bending and lifting, such as a box of printer paper.
