Position Overview/Duties

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

1. Utilizes knowledge of GIS, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), remote sensing, and computers to plan, coordinate, and accomplish mapping, geospatial analysis, and related GIS or CAD tasks necessary to conduct a variety of planning, engineering and construction projects in support of the geospatial requirements of the Jacksonville District.
2. Serves as a consultant or advisor to scientists and engineers from other Federal, state, and local agencies in hydrographic survey,geodesy, or matters pertaining to LiDAR applications within the Jacksonville District.
3. Performs quality control and assurance during in-house field work and helps resolve measurement and payment issues during construction. The work requires application of professional knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of surveying including underlying mathematics and physical science, in combination with a practical knowledge of applied remote sensing physics.
