Position Title: Reassignment -Construction Control Inspector, GS-0809-09

Position Duties:

Serves as a Construction Representative with responsibility for performance of necessary field direction of maintenance/new work construction dredging, disposal area construction and maintenance, construction of bank stabilization, beach nourishment, a variety of other marine construction projects and for providing administrative and technical assistance within the Dredging Team, as required for the specific project assigned
Interprets contract plans and specifications to determine whether construction meets contract requirements.
Responsible for the inspection of the contract work for compliance and specifications, acceptability of materials and workmanship and the deployment of safe, acceptable construction methods and practices.
Continuously studies the plans and specifications to foresee potential problems and formulates corrective action in advance.
Compiles, prepares, and submits on prescribed forms daily progress reports and other required data.
Checks and reviews contractor's quality control system and ensures that contractor is performing work in accordance with the approved construction plan.
Administers the District's safety program at the worksite and the enforcement of applicable safety rules and regulations.
Performs a variety of administrative and technical duties in support of overall Section mission and workload.
Maintains a database of complete dredging and/or other marine construction records for the specific project assigned.
Provides input to the planning and coordination aspects of dredging operations and other navigation concerns.
