Position Overview/Duties

Position Title: Contract Specialist GS-1102-12 (16049)
Duty Location(s): Jacksonville. FL
Duties:
Coordinate and execute the day to day functions pertaining to the award of new contracts for acquisition and procurement of Services, Supplies, Construction, Grants, Cooperative Agreements, Economy Acts and Supplies/equipment for the District.
Perform pre-award and post-award duties for selected actions which are complex and politically sensitive.
Assigned complex high dollar contracts and task orders which will require participation on Project Delivery Teams.
Perform duties with contracting to include acquisition planning, market research, oversight and participation in formal and informal source selection processes, cost/price analysis and negotiations.
Assist lower graded contract specialists with the solicitation and award of contracts utilizing sealed bidding and negotiated procedures.
Other Conditions and Requirements
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

- Hiring incentives such as a recruitment/relocation bonus, service credit for leave, and student loan repayment may be authorized (subject to available budget).
- Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
- This position is eligible for situational telework.
