Position Overview/Duties

Serves as a project manager responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, design, acquisition, construction, and direction of assigned projects directly involved in the generation and/or transmission of electrical power 
systems and associated with a Military Program segment. The programs are established at agency and/or congressional levels and represent different funding sources. Examples of programs include Military Construction (MILCON) and Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Sustainment, Restoration, 
and Modernization (SRM), and Energy Resilience and investment Program (ERCIP).  Projects initiated under the various programs support military installations (e.g., Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps), and range from military family housing, to medical clinics and highly sophisticated test facilities; repair and maintenance of existing facilities on military bases; environmental clean-up activities to include asbestos removal, soil and groundwater remediation, construction of related facilities, e.g., wastewater treatment plants, and all activities required to accomplish Army installation disposal. Assigned projects are characterized by involving several complex features, such as technical issues, high visibility, political interest, public impact, extensive coordination requirements, compressed schedules and/or environmental sensitivity. Projects are located throughout a multi-state geographic area, which is extremely diverse in its geography and physical, biological, and socio-economic environments.
 

Other Conditions and Requirements

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

  • Hiring incentives such as a recruitment/relocation bonus, service credit for leave, and student loan repayment may be authorized (subject to available budget).
  • Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
  • This position is eligible for situational or regular and recurring telework.
