The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.

DUTIES

  • Serve as the Advanced Modeling Lead.
  • Perform 3D solids modeling, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Civil Information Modeling (CIM) on multiple platforms.
  • Perform layout of complex equipment and features from very basic instructions from engineers.
  • Perform feature sizing based on general-principle and standard criteria.
  • Mentor others in the proper use of 3D Modeling, BIM, and CIM on multiple platforms.
  • Lead other Engineering Technicians (CADD Lead) in multi-discipline projects.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Physical Effort: The work is primarily sedentary, although there is some walking in offices, hydropower plants, and work areas. Work may involve carrying lightweight items, such as computer and accessories, notebooks, test equipment, work papers, or operating a motor vehicle. The work does not require any special physical effort or ability. A large amount of close detailing work is required which may result in eye strain.

Working Conditions: Work area is usually an office setting adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks for discomforts requiring normal safety precautions. The occasional site visit requires the employee to stay continually alert and to take special safety precautions including wearing special protective items of clothing.
