Position Overview/Duties

This is an internal announcement for a Legal Assistant (OA), GS-0986-07, in the South Atlantic Division, Mobile District, Office of Counsel.

Position Title: Legal Assistant (OA)

Who May Apply: This position is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. You must be a GS-07 to qualify.

Open Period: 20 Janauary-24 February 2026

Duty Location: Mobile, AL.

  • Current permanent USACE GS-07 will be considered for reassignment at the same grade.

Duties:

Incumbent serves as a Legal Assistant in the Office of Counsel at the Corps of Engineers in Mobile, Alabama. The incumbent is responsible for clerical support to include travel, training, time & attendance, property accountability, procurement of supplies and equipment, and assistance to the attorneys in all areas of a legal nature, maintaining a law library on a shared network, and maintaining accountability of legal workflow.
