Position Overview/Duties

Specialized Experience for GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes the below. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Responsibilities/Duties: Serves as a Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) technical specialist in the field of geophysics applied to MMRP Response. Provides expert consultation service and advice on a broad range of response issues in coordination with HQUSACE, districts, Corps R&D laboratories, and other government agencies. Serves as an expert on military munitions and environmental issues related to remediation processes, assists in resolving controversial technical issues between the military munitions design centers, PM districts, the EM CX, other government agencies, and private industry groups involved in remediation projects. Assists HQ USACE, PM Districts, MMRP design centers, and project management districts in executing their public involvement activities, which may include facilitating the systematic planning process, presenting public education/outreach, assisting with public meetings, and any other communication activities with the public or stakeholders. Reviews environmental engineering and military munitions aspects of work performed by USACE military munitions design centers, districts and consulting engineering firms and analyzes and formulates specialized engineering solutions to unusual problems.

Salary range per annum, plus applicable locality supplement (dependent on selected duty location).
Travel Requirements: Less than 20% Temporary Duty Travel required.

Relocation: Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
