Position Overview/Duties

INTRODUCTION: Special announcement detail at the US Army Corps of Engineers, HQUSACE, Directorate of Engineering and Construction. This announcement may be used to fill one or more positions within the Engineering and Construction Directorate. Additionally, a list of eligible candidates will be established and may be used to fill future vacancies that become available during the life of the referral list.


POSITION: Interdisciplinary Engineer, GS-08xx-14, Construction Management Innovation Office, Engineering and Construction Directorate 

 

DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT/DUTIES: This position implements the CM Innovation strategy by aligning technology and the workforce. This will be accomplished by adapting policies, processes, and specifications with new tools and capabilities, developing and delivering comprehensive training programs tailored to diverse learning styles, and fostering collaboration between implementation teams and end-users to facilitate seamless technology adoption. This role involves analyzing existing processes, creating updated documentation, communicating technical information clearly, proactively addressing challenges related to change management, and collaborating with other automated information systems to ensure smooth data integration. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, while possessing excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

This opportunity is being announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP). APPLICABILITY/AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This assignment is a detail, open to current GS14s and promotional eligible GS13s. US Army Corps of Engineers employees only. This assignment is a detail, NTE 120 days; however, the duration may be shortened or extended based on the needs of the organization and the availability of the selectee.

 

PERIOD OF ASSIGNMENT: The temporary promotion/reassignment will commence on or about 20 October 2025.

 

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS: Nominees will be selected based on:

  • Technical Proficiency: Understanding of CEFMS, PROMIS, ACWS, and RMS..
  • Process Analysis: Strong understanding of construction policy and Unified Facility Guide Specifications.
  • Training & Facilitation: Experience in delivering effective training programs.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
