Position Overview/Duties
The GS-08 Division Secretary for the Engineering and Construction Division, Nashville District, serves as a key administrative authority responsible for a wide range of office management, program support, and operational functions:
- Serves as E&C Division Secretary, supporting complex organizational and administrative operations
- Oversee timekeeping in CEFMS, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission
- Acts as central POC for administrative policies, procedures, and GEARS document routing
- Schedules and coordinates meetings, travel, and manages executive calendars.
- Supports budget, travel, and GPC procurement transactions in financial systems
- Coordinates special projects, conducts research, and develops recommendations for management decisions

- Minimum Qualifications: In order to qualify for the temporary GS-08 position, you must currently or have previously held a GS-07 as prescribed by OPM and meet OPM qualification standards for occupational series 0318. https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0300/secretary-series-0318/
- Minimum Experience Requirement:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and automated administrative systems such as CEFMS.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
