Current permanent USACE GS-13/14/15 will be considered for details at the same grade (up to 1 year) or temporary promotions not to exceed 120 days pending Hiring Freeze ETP approval.
Duties:
Serves as the Deputy Director in the Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Human Resources Directorate. This key role will work directly with the Chief of CEHR supporting strategic HR initiatives and managing daily operations to include official correspondence. The Supervisor relies on the incumbent to carry out assigned responsibilities in a capacity similar to a Chief of Staff. The position will have input and provide analysis on a range of Human Resources topics with broad policy guidance and will keep the Director of CEHR informed on the progress of the work, any special difficulties encountered, and problems requiring major deviations from current policy. The incumbent exercises considerable independent responsibility for accomplishing assignments and has wide latitude for coordination with Senior Leadership within USACE, Department of Army (DA), and the Department of Defense (DoD). Advice and resolution of problems typically require imaginative and innovative exploration of alternative courses by applying foundational knowledge of civilian and military personnel regulation taking into consideration the fundamental organizational priorities and a full understanding of the customer’s needs and considerations.

The incumbent coordinates office operations and initiatives. Serves as the central point of authoritative information on administrative policies, procedures, and requirements of the organization. Plans and coordinates administrative support operations to enable senior leaders and staff to optimally support the mission. Participates in planning and management studies necessitated by program and organization changes.
