Position Overview/Duties

Assists program analysts and project schedulers, senior specialists and supervisor in conducting program functions. At the direction of the supervisor and assistance from team members, develop and coordinate a variety of basic/routine reports, program briefings and other related actions. Tasks are assigned to increase the employee's knowledge and function of program analysis, and provide a general familiarity with governing policies, procedures and regulations. Incumbent receives intensive on-the-job training in carefully selected assignments to provide experience in the application of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of program analysis. Assists in the initiation of appropriate required action. Works closely with team members to develop and solve resolution of problems/issues and makes basic recommendations. Assists members in the formulation of milestones, goals, target dates and requirements to evaluate/analyze various aspects of projects/programs.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Minimum Education Requirement:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school seeking a degree, and
• Must be in and maintain good academic standing, and
• To quality for GS-04 grade: Students must have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study by January 2026.

  • Work schedule may flex, extending to full-time during seasonal school breaks (PT during academic year and FT during summer).
  • Upon graduation, position MAY be converted to a GS-5 or GS-7 permanent position.
    • Permanent position has non-competitive promotion potential to GS-11.
    • Per Superior Academic Achievement: GS-5 - GPA below 3.0; GS-7 - GPA of 3.0 or above.
