Position Overview/Duties

This position is to recruit a 180-Day Detail for South Atlantic Division, Charleston, District, Chief, Regulatory Division- TDY expenses will be 100% paid by SAC

Open/Close: 27 February - 06 March, 2025

Duties: Incumbent serves as Chief, Regulatory Division with full responsibility for administering and enforcing the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Program in the Charleston District. The program is responsible to protect the nation’s aquatic resources, while allowing reasonable development through fair, flexible and balanced permit decisions. The program’s direction is to improve and enhance the physical, biological and chemical integrity of the nation's water resources and ensuring that regulated activities in these waters are not contrary to the public interest, considering environmental, social, and economic concerns.

This opportunity is being announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP). Current, permanent USACE employees with noncompetitive eligibility to be placed in this position are eligible to apply. Minimum Education Requirement: 

Basic Requirements Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position -OR-Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. And/OR- 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level
