Position Overview/Duties
This is a Senior Budget Analyst position, GS-0560-12 in the South Atlantic Division, Savannah District, Project Controls and Program Management Branch, located in Savannah, GA.
Area of Consideration: This is an internal reassignment to the grade of GS-12. Selection may not result in promotion or conversion to a new appointment.

Responsibilities/Duties:
This position is a key financial role responsible for managing the budget throughout the Planning, Programs, and Project Management Division, encompassing diverse funding sources like Military Construction and Civil Works programs. The Budget Analyst analyzes funding requests, ensures compliance with regulations, and maintains fiscal control over millions of dollars in appropriations. A core function is coordinating with stakeholders – both internal and external sponsors – to secure and manage funding agreements, including those involving cost-sharing and interagency collaborations. This role also involves preparing detailed budget reports, forecasts, and justifications for submission to higher headquarters and Congress. Finally, the selected candidate will provide expert budgetary advice to project managers, ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds.

Minimum Education Requirement/Requirement:
Completion of all mandatory training prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to GS-13 or higher-level contracting positions, including at least 4-years' experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the next lower level of the position, and must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position.

A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management
