Position Overview/Duties

About the Position: This position is part of the Administrative Team in the Planning Programs and Project Management Division at Portland District block 300. The Team supports a Staff of Project and Program Managers who execute many mission-critical projects over the course of a fiscal year. This person is critical to help keep administrative business running smooth and accurate amid ongoing functional innovations.

Key Duties:

  • First line customer care professional engaging with all levels of the organization to service key administrative functions.
  • Accurately and efficiently support Property, Timekeeping, Travel, and Misc administrative actions for a staff of 100.
  • Maintain Process guides, Workflow information and Records for Administrative Team.
  • Help Staff find resources online; Trouble shoot IT issues and execute annual Property Inventories.
  • Cover for Admin Team Members in Front Office, Awards processing, Correspondence review and routing, Meeting logistics, and Sr Leader Support.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing reports to compile information, prepare charts and presentations to support organizational decision making; 2) Performing analysis and research to collect data and determine trends within the organization; AND 3) Coordinating travel requests and maintaining division calendars to support staff and management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level or equivalent position in the federal service GS-06.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Conditions of employment

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Temporary Duty travel up to 5% of the time.
