In accordance with ARTICLE 32 of the Negotiated Agreement between the US Army Corps of Engineers and AFGE Local 2187, I am conducting an informal solicitation for the expected subject vacancy. SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES: Position provides a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of the Southern Area, determining methods of management and means of incorporating these services into the overall management, assessing their operability and impact, and modifying procedures and processes as necessary to make the services responsive to their intended purpose.

Areas of expertise include budget, personnel administration, procurement, property management, reports management, data processing, public relations and analytical work.

Performs the following typical duties: act as the Area Office Liaison for Personnel Actions, Southern Area POC for training, provide administrative oversight and liaison with multiple site supervisors engaged in a variety of functions such as travel; property management; records management and disposal. Southern Area timekeeping subject matter expert.

Works closely with the development and administration of the budget(s) controlled by the OPM/DOPM and Operations Divisions.

Runs monthly budget reports; evaluates budgetary performance by examining accounting and budget records and report for the area and coordinates finding with district office financial personnel.

Minimum Education Requirement: Must have a High School Degree/GED or equivalent experience.

Minimum Experience Requirement: At least 1 year of specialized experience as an Administrative Assistant or equivalent work field.

  • This position requires a mobility agreement upon entry.
  • The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter.
  • This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

  • Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
