Position Overview/Duties

Position Title: Interdisciplinary GS-XXXX-14 (29006)
Duty Location(s): Jacksonville. FL
Duties:
Serves as Chief, Environmental Branch, Planning and Policy Division.
Responsible for developing and implementing the vision, mission, and direction of the organization by leading and managing an inclusive, diverse workforce that leverages the talents of each employee.
Evaluates work products and methods fairly to ensure quality and to determine superior to sub-standard performance.
Closely monitors available funding to assure adequacy for work remaining on specific investigations and assure most effective utilization of available manpower and resources.
Ensures that sufficient contracting capability is maintained for the accomplishment of the work of the Branch.
Routinely meets with senior Federal government officials and national scientific advisory groups to provide briefings, prepare position papers, and develop multi-year program budgeting requirements.
Seeks opportunities to gain efficiency in Mission execution while creating benefits for the environment.
Other Conditions and Requirements
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

- Hiring incentives such as a recruitment/relocation bonus, service credit for leave, and student loan repayment may be authorized (subject to available budget).
- Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
- This position is eligible for situational telework.
