Position Overview/Duties

Responsibilities/Duties:

Performs office engineering duties such as processing administering contracts. Working with a variety of interested parties; contractors, suppliers, agency representatives, etc. Reviews specifications for special requirements. Prepares Request for Proposals to contractors. Creates memorandums to engineers and the District Office. Construction is performed under rigid completion schedules and requires strict adherence to safety standards.

Qualification Requirements:

To qualify, you must meet the one-year specialized experience requirements described below. Your 2-page resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes Carrying out construction contract administration duties including contract modifications, assisting on negotiations with contractors, reviewing cost estimates, and preparing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
