Position Overview/Duties

Position Title: Lead Realty Specialist, GS-1170-13

Series/Grade: GS-1170-13

Who May Apply: This position is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. You must be a GS-12 or GS-13 to qualify.

Duty Location: Wilmington, NC.

  • Interested candidates should provide their resume in TARP, and be prepared to provide current SF-50 and first and second level supervisor endorsement upon request.
  • Current permanent USACE GS-13 will be considered for details at the same grade (up to 6 months) or reassignment pending Hiring Freeze ETP approval.
  • Current permanent GS-12 will be considered for temporary promotions not to exceed 120 days.

Duties:

  • The incumbent performs more complex realty duties and works with greater independence in accomplishing various actions in support of civil and military programs.
  • Incumbent serves as the Lead Realty Specialist for one of the branches established within the Real Estate Division and carries out a variety of assigned projects involving the civil and military real estate program within the Wilmington District. 
  • Involved in planning and acquisition of fee and lesser estates (including military and civil in leasing, CONUS AND OCONUS); management of Government-owned real property (including granting out grants and performing inspections); disposal by sale, transfer, or termination of leasehold interests (including BRAC). 
  • Representative projects include multipurpose, flood control and navigation projects, military installations, equipment test sites, reserve and National Guard training areas and centers; light industry plants; offices, military recruiting centers and storage spaces.
  • Transactions cover properties ranging from wide areas of Federally owned lands, state or local government-owned lands, privately owned lands, residential areas, agricultural and forestry lands and industrial tracts. Plans and manages team activities by scheduling, setting priorities, and making adjustments as needed to coordinate the team's efforts to assure timely completion of required work.
  • Advises team members on policy and regulatory guidance.
