Position Overview/Duties

Position Title: SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST(SCO-SAD), GS-1102-14/15, Reassignment, Detail or 120-Day Temp Promotion (66867)

Who May Apply: This position is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. You must be a GS-14/15 to qualify

  • Interested candidates should provide their resume in TARP, and be prepared to provide current SF-50 and first and second level supervisor endorsement if selected for an interview.

  • Current permanent USACE GS-15 will be considered for details at the same grade (up to 1 year) or reassignment pending Hiring Freeze ETP approval.

  • Current permanent GS-14 will be considered for temporary promotions not to exceed 120 days pending Hiring Freeze ETP approval.

Duties: 

Serves as a Senior Contracting Official (SCO) with Senior Contracting Official authority for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at South Atlantic Division (SAD). Oversees the contracting operation/execution of USACE, SAD contracting offices.  Provides expert acquisition advice to MSC and District Commanders and the Director of Contracting (DoC). Provides the interface between the Head of the Contracting Activity (HCA), and the supported Directors of Contracting, at assigned contracting activities within their MSC AOR. Incumbent is appointed in accordance with Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFARS) 5101.108(b) and 5101.692(b), DODI 5000.58, DODI 5000.66 and serves as the senior staff official of the contracting functions within a major region. Incumbent will be required to report to SAD HQ in Atlanta, GA. Alternate USACE duty locations may be considered under a temporary assignment. TDY funds may be authorized for TDY to Atlanta, GA IAW current travel guidelines.
