Position Overview/Duties
About: Serve as a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Specialist responsible for planning and managing a comprehensive SOH program to eliminate or control the risk of injury to personnel assigned to The Dalles Lock and Dam.
Key Duties include:
- Enforces safety and occupational health principles, methods, and techniques which includes understanding OSHA requirements.
- Conduct surveys to identify hazards and to evaluate and recommend abatement procedures.
- Investigate mishaps involving personnel or damage to machinery, tools, materials, or equipment.
- Address any near misses, injuries, or accidents and brief the Operations Project Manager.
- Evaluate, procure, and distribute accident prevention materials and provide training.
