Position Overview/Duties

  • Serve as the Technical Expert within the Middle East District responsible for planning and coordination of the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of District IT hardware and software systems.
  • Manage system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability; thereby ensuring system availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
  • Serve as Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for all aspects of the Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) relational database management system architectures.
  • Administer and manage the physical and logical hosts in support of these technologies.
  • Maintain systems configuration, as well as resolve hardware/software interfaces and interoperability problems.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
  • In accordance with DoD 8570.01-M dated 19 Dec 05, C3.2.4.1.1.2. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Technical level II certifications.
  • This position is designated as Non-Combat Essential and will be designated as Key in accordance with DTM 17-004 and position requirements include: a position cannot be vacated during an emergency without seriously impairing the mission.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance and is designated as noncritical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R.
