Position Overview/Duties

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: For the GS-13, Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the below. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). 

1. Providing technical guidance (environmental or chemical engineering, geology, geophysics), advice, and assistance regarding Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) and/or Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) in the preparation of CERCLA (or similar programs) evaluations and assessments. 

2. Developing, reviewing, and recommending applicable technical policies, procedures, and other guidance materials pertaining to CERCLA (or similar programs) cleanup and compliance aspects of HTRW and/or MMRP projects including engineering regulations, manuals, and guide scopes of work; and 

3. Providing critical technical review of HTRW and/or MMRP projects to include regulatory, environmental and/or chemical engineering, geophysical or geologic evaluations to justify removal, remedial, or no actions; technical aspects of scopes of work, work plans, investigation reports, feasibility studies, design reports and plans and specifications generated by USACE districts nationwide; or guidelines and regulations to protect safety and health of personnel at remediation sites.
