Position Overview/Duties
This 180-day temporary detail offers a unique opportunity to provide vital administrative and office support to a premier team of Research Engineers and Scientists. Based at the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory’s (CHL) Field Research Facility—a world-class coastal observatory in Duck, NC—the selectee will manage essential office operations, ensuring the team is fully equipped to execute critical R&D missions.
· Travel Coordination (CEFMS): Preparing, processing, and posting travel orders, authorizations, and vouchers directly within CEFMS. Reviewing submitted receipts for accuracy and completeness to prevent travel-related funding delays and rejects.
· Property Accountability Support: Assisting the Branch Chief and Hand Receipt Holders with maintaining property accountability by organizing and tracking inventory lists, coordinating property transfers, and ensuring records are highly organized and audit ready.
· Processes internal requests for the purchase and issue of materials and supplies. Edits requests to ensure all required information is available, enters information into an automated system for approval and certification. Ability to maintain a government purchase card, conducting reconciliation of purchases and returns. Maintains a basic knowledge of duties and goals relating to clerical and administrative functions, as well as knowledge of office support programs, such as printing; maintenance and supply services.
· Information Management & Office Automation: Formatting, routing, and filing official correspondence, technical field reports, and administrative data. Utilizing Microsoft Office 365 and shared branch calendars to schedule field
activities, coordinate meetings, and manage the branch's central filing system.
· Time & Attendance Coordination: Serving as the branch timekeeper, verifying time and attendance entries in CEFMS, and coordinating with staff to resolve routine payroll errors.

This job opportunity is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY.
