Position Overview/Duties

Incumbent is assigned to the North Florida Aquatic Plant Field Office, Palatka, FL. Incumbent is stationed at a field office with the responsibility for accomplishing a variety of construction and maintenance equipment operation at numerous disposed locations. The locations include projects within the Central and South Florida Flood Control Project, Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Projects,Modified Water Deliveries Project, USDA NRCS Wetlands Restoration Easement projects, the St. Johns River, Lake Okeechobee and the Okeechobee Waterway, numerous passive and water control structures, remote recreation areas, beach revetment projects, and other locations throughout the district and region.
• Employee will be on TDY for 11days minimum to 28 days maximum throughout the year.
• Employee must obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance .
• Employee must obtain and maintain Government Travel Card.
• Employee will be operating marsh excavators at Derdge Material Maintenance Areas.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 80% of the time.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A is required for this position.

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure
the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. Must be able to lift up to
50 lbs.

This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states
or possessions to operate vehicles.

Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in
the best interests of the government.
