Position Overview/Duties

Responsible for the preparation of designs, contract plans, technical specifications, quality control plans, design documentation reports, and quality estimates to support construction calculations for navigation channels, harbors, jetties, shore protection projects, eco-restoration projects, and dredge management placement facilities. Leads and manages the engineering components of all the projects for the District Navigation Program and coastal feasibility studies as well as serving as the Technical Lead for assigned Continuing Authorities Program projects.  Maintains fluency in design software packages, technologies used for the collection of survey data, development of design models, and creation of plans and specifications.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

  • Hiring incentives such as a recruitment/relocation bonus, service credit for leave, and student loan repayment may be authorized (subject to available budget).
  • Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
